Solar Charge Controllers
A charge controller, or charge regulator is basically a voltage and/or current regulator to keep batteries from overcharging. It regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panels going to the battery.
Solar charge controllers are designed to do two primary things within a solar power system: optimize the charging of your deep cycle batteries by the solar panels and prevent electricity from the batteries from going through the solar panels when there is no sun.
Many of the solar charge controllers we offer have additional features, including the ability to automatically turn DC powered loads off or on, such as lights. Others may be used with relatively high voltages of strings of solar panels. Additionally, some solar charge controllers can provide monitoring of your batteries' voltage and amp-hours left and even connect to your home data network for remote monitoring.
The programmable features allow the user to customise the charging process by setting the battery type and the capacity, choosing charging voltages at each stage, setting protection parameters, and by switching the load on and off by timer. These controllers put the power in the owner’s hands, and makes a solar circuit much more advanced and controllable. An LCD display gives you information about many things, including: -the solar panel current/voltage,the battery current/voltage -the state of charge of the battery -the temperature -current charging stage
